Anxiety Counseling

Online Counseling for Adults Across Idaho

The stress of life feels unmanageable.

When your mind never stops and you worry about every possible thing known to mankind. It doesn’t feel rational, but you can’t control it. There are too many unknowns, and everything feels unsettling. You look fine on the outside, but you feel overwhelmed and exhausted on the inside. Constantly overthinking and worrying about what others think and second guessing yourself comes at a high cost.

You may recognize some of these:

  • Racing thoughts that won’t stop, especially at night

  • Difficulty sleeping

  • A feeling that you have to stay busy and keep moving

  • Constantly replaying decisions and interaction; did I do that right or should I have done it differently

  • Realizing you are daydreaming when you are in conversation with others

  • A body that feels keyed up and on alert, even when nothing is wrong

What We Do in Session:

We get to know and understand your anxiety.

Some clients need more help with understanding how anxiety is impacting their bodies and how to not fear the feelings of it. We get to know and understand your nervous system. Some are ready to get to know their anxious parts in a more understanding and compassionate way and want to befriend these parts but are struggling to do so. We do parts work through Internal Family Systems (IFS) to understand how these anxious parts of you have been trying to keep you safe while we work towards greater healing.

What Getting Better Looks Like:

The goal isn’t to get rid of your anxiety, but to get curious about it and connect with it. Find compassion towards it, which leads to softening and healing.

My clients still have hard days. What changes is that it doesn’t define them. They are able to find understanding for themselves and continue on. They are calmer and can relax more. They find they are able to be more compassionate towards themselves, and they find the courage to do what they always wanted.
